Machine for Filey bay

Post by Nailman »

A question for the East coast lads
One of my relatives has a static van at Reighton gap, so only a summer visitor
I used to use a Garrett At pro down in Lincolnshire, however on Filey bay it was like a budgie on crack it was the same in the stuble fields so In a fit of rage I sold it.

I know that PI machines are the best on the beach, but can't justify buying one in case the access to the caravan disappears can anyone recommend a vlf machine that works as I also want a back up machine for my GMP

Minelab Sovereign best beach machine
Used one for years can't beat it but that's my opinion superb on the dry and wet deep machine ::g

:D Hello nailman, Have you given the GMP an outing on the beach. There is a suggested setting for wet sand you can use curtesy of The 'Environment Settings Guide' produced by Anubis. You'll find it under Metal Detectors -XP Detectors (Goldmaxx). Good luck. Regards sweepstick47 ::g ::g
The only 'Back-up' for a 'GMP' is another GMP!!

If you dont fancy getting a PI machine the best all round detector that can do beaches and land has to be the Sovereign range, not only do they offer discrimination but also can be hip mounted as well to reduce weight.

The trouble is they are getting rare to find a decent one these days.

Minelab GPX 14'' and 18'' Coiltek coils.

Re At
I have always used Garretts but just could not get on with the AT
If it saw a stuble field a white flag used to wave from the vdu, did have some nice finds on pasture but it was very unstable on the beach

My budget is around £300-£400
I will keep the Minelab sov in mind, but as mentioned they are getting like hens teath to get hold of
I know the Cscope 4pi is in my budget, and if I lived on the coast a PI machine would be my first choice.

Let me know if you decide to sell the PI pro, I could do with a back up. ::g
