1st hour with new deus lite review

Post by selectcase »

Well my new deus lite arrived today from regtons via ebay - I only bought it yesterday so excellent service from them.

I have been a goldmaxx user for a year so having charged it and testing it in the garden i was happy to hear some very familiar sounds.

took it to a very heavily iron infested area that is the remains of an old medieval site
the basic 1 program was ok but not shining in this situation so i switched to the goldmaxx - this was better and much like my old machine so i tried the deus fast as this area has loads of contamination - excellent results and i picked up 2 very small 4th century romans and a thin sectioned copper coin within the hour plus numerous buttons and bits of lead and a couple of pieces of coke(the goldmaxx was the same with coke). I then went to a quieter area and switched to the basic 1 program for some general searching.

overall a very pleasing machine to use that has met all of my needs - to be able to change frequencies is briliant, wireless headphones are great and the lightweight is also great. I am so glad I had used the goldmaxx before as using the deus the tones are virtually the same. the only slight fly in the ointment was the interference from the electric fence 30 yards away as i had to put up with the regular beep, beep, beep but the machine is wireless so is bound to be more sensitive to this kind of interference. Deus fast seems to work it on the edge and its a bit scratchy but that's fine with me and could have been the elecrtic fence interfering - i picked up some really small fragments of lead.

Am I gald I bought it - yes it is a brilliant machine for the money especially if you are used to the xp tones

Will I get a controller??? - yes when I can afford one but the machine is still excellent without it however the manual has shown me the extra functionality with the controller so naturally i want one even it it actually makes little difference to my actual detecting - its the ability to change frequencies within the one machine that's impressive

Headphones - slightly more uncomfortable than my old blue wired backphones so i will be getting a pair of chefphones for the £50

I will keep the goldmaxx for the odd occasion where I may encouter excessive interference but overall the deus is the best machine I have ever used - well impressed ::g ::g ::g
