Metal detecting Exmouth beach YES or No

Just a quick question about Exmouth beach. Can you metal detect there as I see it is not marked as Crown Estate? I see people down there metal detecting and just wonder is it ok?

The beach there used to be good for vicky finds i know of a few Gold coins from there and old gold ring's good hunting.
