thanks for the video I enjoyed it. I am thinking about getting a GPX myself in the near future so it is nice to listen to the signals
That's great Tombs just what we wanted...
Can you alter the length of the tones from short to long etc. like on the CTX or is that is that what you get??

cheers mate, i got there in the end.... im hoping to do a video that actually shows the depth capability of the gpx next time.fingers wrote:That's great Tombs just what we wanted...![]()

you can change the pitch and invert the tones but i dont think you can make them longer...to be honest i dont think it would be helpful as there isnt any pinpoint and if they where wider your holes would get silly lol

I was thinking perhaps a shorter tone when I wrote that, no pinpoint eh, how can you tect with out one
Hows about a silver penny at 20inch then but will settle for 15inch
You can do it Tombs

it can be a little tricky with out pinpoint especially if your target is 15" deep! i go through this cycle of depression that im never going to find it and excitement that its soooo deep lol.fingers wrote:Looking forward to the next then ...

Great video Tom,technically speaking a Pulse machine does not have a pinpointer but what most people do is use the edge of the coil as this is the most sensitive part of the coil on a Pulse,so what you do is lift one side of the coil up off the ground and keep the other edge on the ground that then becomes your very sensetive pinpointer on the machine.
You then use the VCO sound in your headphones/speaker just like a pinpoint probe, this saves you alot of digging, you check on YouTube how the Gold Hunters do it that is exactly how they locate a small nugget size item.

very interesting , I just wonder how many deeper hammered coins it would recover in my area , just out of reach of the Deus . But there would be a lot of iron digging .

Tom,just a quick question, you are using the Buddy harness with the ML Bungie end ??? so have you made a special belt mounted battery pack as without the ML harness the only other option would be using the lightweight screamer packs which mounts on the side of the control box but i dont really thing they are man enough for long term use with the 5K.

yeah i use the buddy with ML bungie and a pro-tectors battery holder and a wide quick fasten belt, mine is made by bahco. its a good setup because its as clutter free as a gpx can be and if im using a different detector i can take the battery out and put my lunch in the pouch lol.Mega B wrote:Tom,just a quick question, you are using the Buddy harness with the ML Bungie end ??? so have you made a special belt mounted battery pack as without the ML harness the only other option would be using the lightweight screamer packs which mounts on the side of the control box but i dont really thing they are man enough for long term use with the 5K.
i think Steve stopped doing gpx stuff but i think he might have one or two bits left...i can find out if you want.

Hi Tom, I don't think it's the speaker causing you to dig for iron.. It's the GPX5000 !!Tombs wrote:so another video of the gpx 5000 but iv got the gpx sounds in this one....dig a bit of iron because im not used to the speaker but thats detecting.
Mine is a good bottletop finder I've found - lol..
Seriously, you get used to it and I now find it strange when I use the headphones.
I've a switchable probe which funnily enough works just dandy on the D'Coil settings if you happen to be using one at the time. It shouldn't but it does.
Anyone else use a switchable probe on their 5000's?
Do you have excess cable length problems with the probe where you have to continually keep it all tidy??
Don’t be afraid to be open-minded! Your Brain isn’t going to fall out.

I've never dug so much iron as I did today with the GPX!
I can't get my canister around it.
I threw the towel in after two hours & went home to get a discriminating Minelab!
