Advice
Next ear I will retire from work (65). I am considering upgrading from e trac and cannot make up my mind whether to go had with this new purchase or will I be wasting my hard earned pension pot. Your opinions will be much appreciated.

thats a hard question to answer, there are a few variables that would determine the answer, whats the ground like that you hunt, ie is in mineralised, are you detecting iron filled roman sights, do you detect beaches/rivers?
i would say the etrac is almost as good as your going to get, it hold its own or will thrash the opposition on the land or the beach be it wet or dry sand, and iv tried a few detectors, at the moment i have the ultimate detector collection, whites v3i with 12" sef, T2 ltd with ultimate coil (on lone), deus with both coils, etrac with all the sef coils and ultimate, ctx3030 and coils and last but not lest the gpx5000 with 15" sef.
out of all of them the only one that really has a massive actual detecting advantage is the gpx, but all of them apart from the ctx have (for my type of detecting) big disadvantages.
im going to stop there or this could be a very long post lol

I've never used the E-Trac I can't comment on it but I can certainly say I'm more than happy with my CTX, a cracking bit of kit now I've got the hang of it!

Minelabbed to the bone!
CTX 3030 with 'a few' coils
X-Terra 505 & many coils
Pro Find 35
2 metal knees
Trusty Zippo
Eagles may soar on high but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines!
