Pro find has stopped working (what to do?)
Hi all!
Had my pro find for a couple of months now, and it died on me on the beach last night. It turns on, but can't detect anything.
I didn't get it wet.
Problem is, I won it in the Joan Allen competition. I binned the box and warranty like an idiot, as I thought minelab stuff was pretty much indestructible!
Any advice on what to do? I feel really cheeky about telling Joan Allen, as they were kind enough to give it as a prize...

Give JA a call mate, they can't dispute it's origin as you won it from 'em & they're always helpful

Yea, I've pretty much tried everything. Changed batteries too.
Bit disappointed. I haven't used it that much, either. It did well on the Latvian battlefields, but this was only the second beach trip. All in all, I've only used it on 3-4 trips

Get on the phone mate, I'm sure they'll be only too happy to help & from my experience their service is second to none!Addicted to bleeps wrote:Yea, I've pretty much tried everything. Changed batteries too.

Whether they sold it to you, gave it to you or you won it in a raffle shouldn't make a difference really ... I'd phone them and offer to pay the postage as a compromise ... They probably buy them for naff all in their hundreds anyway lol

The Minelab pinpointer has only been out just over a year i guess and as they come with a 24month warrenty and also it was provided by JA as a prize i really cannot see you having any problems of getting it either repaired or replaced

Cheers, all!
Ok, I've managed to 'kinda' get it working. It's weird. If I wave it in front of my face a bit, it tends to bleep, and then start working. I'm weird with stuff like that. I now think 'It has a bit of 'character' and will probably stick with it, giving it the nickname 'Git', or 'TheGit'.
Either way, thanks for your help!
