On a different but similar note i just had a new clutch fitted in my car two days ago i hated it ;;z the pedal is as light as a feather the bite is in the wrong place , then today after i have done around 200 miles with this new clutch it is great ::g Now this is the same with Deus v3.1 at first i read all the negative things then looked at some tips and did a few alterations to my own liking , maybe if you look at the settings on v 2.0 and try to emulate that on v3.1 you might like it ::g have i missed anything by changing ? who knows but my last outings have bagged me my first Gold coin three hammies and two and a half silver Romans along with a token some Roman bronzes and some other bits and bobs. would V2.0 of made any difference ? From what i can see at the moment we are having a really dry spell in England and i am sure that is adding to the poor quality signals we get . Just my thoughts anyway ::g

Its all basically down to people do not like change but in this case members / people have spent hundreds of hours if not more mastering and becoming at one with their machines so its understandable, if the New update does not offer any huge benefits why would you bother ?
Personally I have not used the Deus for that long so am very happy to carry on mastering the V3+ ::g

The clutch analogy works perfectly ... Also I do think some of it is psychological ... And the weather probably hasn't helped ... This is why I love my 250 ... The deus is a mindf**k ... Even without different versions of it there's just too many options ... I'd have one because they are light and have great depth but I'd whack it on gmp or fast mode and that would be the end of for me ... I'd just be out swinging like crazy ... Saxman always covers ten times as much ground as me and ALWAYS ends the day with loads more finds than me ... I am a bit more relaxed though haha and the 250 isn't a "quick" detector

You could end the debate easily... You just need two deus's with v2 and v3 side by side and do some FIELD tests and you'd probably find that when it comes to brass, copper, silver or gold there's little difference

Haha just throwing that out there!!

Anyone got two and can video the results ... That would be cool!

What's all this nonsense about older users reverting back to V2... I know ya not saying its an age thing, but I've been an owner for over 2 1/2 years and getting used to the V3.1 now. And I'm not waiting for someone to come up with the answers so I can have it easy.... at over 65 I'm all up for new learning curves........ Get on with it..... 8-|

The Deus is awesome once you get used to the small sounds ::g the only thing with doing a side by side test is you would have to walk in each others footsteps or it is worthless , as sometimes a matter of inches one way or the other makes a difference between a find and no find ::g
I was thinking of rolling back to V 2.0 but what would it prove as i wouldn't be walking the same track and probably not even the same field :)) I have spent hundreds of hours ( literally ) on V 2.0 and was used to it i did find V 3.0 was frustrating but the updated V 3.01 is much better . So i will stick with it and watch this space as they say ::g

I don't like 3.1, I tried it, I couldn't get on with it, I went back to 2 as it suits me. If 3.1 works for you, fantastic! ::g

I'm going to stick with the V3 for a bit longer, I don't think I've given it long enough yet to make an informed decision. ::g :D ::g

I meant dig holes and plant coins, jewellery and junk and then test them side by side ... Not an air test but a proper field test
