would a Deus Lite be a good upgrade from the AT Pro?

Post by uklad »

Hi guys im currently using a garrett at pro international but really like the look of the deus lite the fact its fully wireless and folds away really small would be a great advantage for me as I travel to land by push bike so need a machine thats as small and light as possible and the deus lite seems to tick the right boxes

But my main question is performance wise would the deus lite be a big improvement on my garrett at pro

I am contemplating the same purchase for a different reason. I have arthritis in my hands and the lighter detector would really suit me even althought the AT Pro is not that heavy and is an excellent detector.
Price is important though, so has anyone a Deus they are willing to sell or trade in for an AT Pro.
Cheers

I would say its lighter then I ace machine as with a ace u get a big control box plus the wires but with the deus lite its just basically the stem and coil u hold headphones being wireless is brilliant also had go with my friends with the control box fitted on and was so lite do you think it would take along time to learn just going by the tones

Hi, since i got the deus I havent used my teknetics t2 .ltd at all. With the remote you can change the tones, mine sounds like my old silver sabre.
Some say there not very deep, I dont agree. If you can get the full setup you wont regret it

Go the whole hog and get the full kit.

You get the benefits of the complete Deus programme settings and dig less rubbish than when just relying on your ears.

When you decide to sell it, however long you use it for it will sell more easily and hold its price.

Just my personal experience . ;) Jerry.

I wish I had seen your post earlier. Just had a mate that sold his Minelab Safari to upgrade to a Deus...he was really deflated with it after 12 months...he kept complaining that it just didn't have the depth on pasture as his Safari. He ended up buying a Safari again and I thought he was mad as the Deus was unbelievably light.

I have a Safari and have also used a Deus and to be honest, I thought the Deus worked just as well on pasture. I also thought it was a great machine on ploughed (borrowed mate's machine for a week) and found it quite simple to use once once you put the time into it. He had his Deus for about 18 months.

The only disadvantage I found with the Deus was using it on a wet beach but I believe there have been further upgrades to the software (Version 3) to address this.

The upgrade from AT Pro to a Deus is like upgrading your car from a Kia to an Audi - both great vehicles but one is just simply "better"!!!

If I had the funds, I would buy myself a Deus...I look at Deus owners with envious eyes...rather like when I drive around in my Kia Ceed and see an Audi A4 convertible overtake me at high speed!!!

Good luck with your Deus!

Good Morning,
Go with the Deus Lite! You will still have a great versatil machine,I had to buy to suit my pocket.
Originly I was going to buy the control box when I could afford it, but the Lite is so good I am not going to bother!

Its a tough one mate, I have the AT Pro and yes I did look at the Deus. I go to my locations on my moter bike so the size and weight was appeeling. I went to Regtons and had a go with one, Nigel uses one and says how good they are. But here is the thing, as the last post said its a lot more money AT Pro = £595 Deus (full) = £1,230 so it all about what do you want! a standard car or a sports car, yes they are a top end machine and perform very well. But I have no complaints with my AT Pro its does what I need it to and it goes on the wet and into the sea as well as farm land no problems, its about weighing it all up and remember what suits one and all that. (like your mate)
Here was my list of things I wanted
1. go any where beach wet /dry, water & farm land
2. waterproof
3. be able to change the batteries if they go low while out ( I don't drive)
4. simple set up,
5 ground balance
6 iron dis check button
7 not too heavy
8 good reliable warranty (and it is)
So looking at it all against the cost, The AT Pro won and is serving me well at this time
all the best in what you decide. Rob

Interesting post and i am sure there will be a few deus owners putting there 2 pence worth in now lol

I have been using my AT Pro for a couple of weeks and you do really need to put the hours in to get the full benefit of the machine, for £1200 you need to seriously be into your detecting imo as that is a hell of a lot of money, is the deus really that good over other medium priced machines. Everyone to there own i suppose , but would i swap my AT Pro for the Deus and add £700 not unless someone guaranteed my finds would double, is there really that much of a difference for it to cost double the price of the AT Pro.. :-SS. I would keep your A T Pro pal..Just my 2 pence worth [:)
