Hi all, i'm new to using a Deus i've read the manual etc, but my problem is when i'm off detecting it seems to be beeping at absolutely every step, i always search with iron volume off, but i only need to walk half a ft and i get beeps, my ground balance is ok, so do you think i should tone down the sensitivity or something? I tend to chop and change programs as i'm still learning but surely it shouldn't be going off at everything? I try to ignore the single pass tones and only dig on strong repeating tones but some people i've read say dig all tones as it could be a deep item??
Also is there any kind of guide to let me know the different number classification of the different metals for the Deus?

Hi all, i'm now using the Roger Relic program, i was using Deus Fast or Basic 1&2, plus keeping my phone off at all times, I do wear steel toe caps when i'm detecting on my lunch break which is a pain, but once i get my trainers on, it seems to still beep alot. I've not been out much in the last week since i got my RR DVD, so i'm going to give the RR program a go and see what it turns up and see if it reduces my falsing problem.

Bout to say, other people don't know your land so ultimately it is best to just use the factory programs first until you know what everything does.
1) Reset to factory
2) Try setting ground balance to auto.
3) Check for overhead power lines / electric fences etc
To get the best out your machine it is actually best to find the right settings for each field you have, and even change it in 1 field if conditions change. Personally I cant be bothered with that and accept I will loose a small bit of depth using the default programs but so far they have worked fine for me.
Also check your not using 3.0 firmware, if you are upgrade to either 3.1 or back down to 2.0.
