Out today with v3.2 and really have to say the jury is still out. I definitely dug more iron but for all that I liked the feel of v3.2. Depth was good, even in dry soil...is it better than v2, I am not sure. Love the pinpointer. So for now I will give it more time. I found switching from 17.7khz to 4 khz helped identify iron reasonably but still feel the readings and tone can be deceptive and result in more digging of iron...sigh :-/

Back from my first outing with the Deus V3.2 and I love it! I deliberately chose a field that had more or less run out of signals as it's been detected for 20+ years. I would say I had 2 or 3 times the number of signals that I was getting during recent outings. I managed to find a silver love token, a rose farthing and several buckles and buttons in quite a small area that I thought was now barren! I was using some settings suggested to me by James Petts (thanks James!).

2 tone
Audio resp - 6
Reac - 3 (4 if its really bad with iron or mineralization)
Iron vol - 0 (1 sometimes)
Sens - 89 or what ever your site is so its stable.
TX-3

I set the frequency to 17.4kz and the disc to 6.8, low tone 202 and high tone to 774.

The Deus was very stable and the signals were definitely clearer and 'cleaner' than they were in V3.1. I'll definitely be using these settings next time I'm out.

Headmaster - sounds excellent. What silencer setting did you use?

Thanks
