Blackpool - was that you ?

We were in Blackpool last week and when wandering between the North and Central Piers we espied a couple of beach detectors on Wednesday evening about 6- 7pm.

(We were waiting for the illuminations to light up. Thought they were pretty poor to be honest. The lights from Central Pier to the Pleasure Beach wouldn't come on, and a very old tram broke down blocking Fleetwood bound trams just before Central Pier. Then the lights from Central pier to the North pier went off again. This was 8.20pm.The traffic was sparse.Never seen it like that before.)

One 'tectorist was on the shoreline and the other was in the small cuts in the sand.

I would have approached and introduced myself, but my better half was having none of that. :))

I've never done beach tecting, but they seemed to know what they were doing.

I was up their twice last week but I was right up the top end of bispham as I take the dogs with me. If you see me with a grumpy terrier and a daft greyhound say hi. Jim

I had a look down near the pier at Lytham. Looks promising.

I have to go where the dogs are allowed but the bonus is it's free parking up at bispham ::g

Yes Jim, I did notice the no dogs signs down Lytham way. Though there were quite a few dogs down there with their owners.

We spotted a dogwalker with 12 dogs on the beach near the North Promenade to the pier at Lytham.

The last time I tried at Blackpool 85,000+ others were on the beach to watch me digging ! =))
