beach found jewellery

Post by jondav »

Could somebody please clear up, once and for all, wheather it is legal or not to sell silver and gold jewellery found on a beach, this seems to be a very "gray " area, when it comes to complying with the law.I would like to know how many of you out there, either hand the things in, or just keepthem. I have quite a bit of scrap silver at the moment, rings etc probably been there years, but I am hesitating wheather to take them to a jewellers,in case this is not legal. thoughts please.

Seems to pop up every 6 months or so.
