Coil Probs....?
Coil Probs....?
Hi
I am unsure if my coil is playing up, I was at 2 separate digs over the weekend and my Deus seemed to be playing up, it was chatty as hell, with or without using the head phones.
I tried loads of different programmes, gmp, basic 1, fast and it would not settle down on any of them, lowered the sense and even reset the program's but to no avail. Everybody else had no problems with there's, a bit of chat but not like mine, barmy with ever swing.
It has been fine since I got it abut 6 months ago then this happens, has anybody else had this kind of problem.
Doing my nut in now.
Atb.

Hi mate, had/still have the same issue.
Been using GMP
Manual GB
Iron vol 0
Sens adjust accordingly 85-95
the rest standard.
GB is reading low to mid 70's when I adjust to match the actual GB it just goes bonkers, the faintest touch of the coil and it beeps, slight lift on the swing and it beeps!
Trying to listen for faint signals is almost impossible at times.
I read feedback on here and think hmmm is the deus really that good, is it faulty, am I being para or have no idea how to use it? prob the latter lol
really don't feel confident that all is ok with the machine???
A guy (extremely helpful and patient) at Regtons talked me through on the phone when I was on the field and everything he said made sense but im still not sure.
The only thing ive noticed is if I adjust the GB up above the actual GB reading, say 75/85 it settles down, I did post on a thread earlier with the question...does this have a negative affect on performance even though it sounds more stable and I still get signals set up like this.
Ive tried Pumping and tracking and its still the same.
Ive used it for a similar time as you and don't recall it being like this when I first used it months back?
I even tried my brothers brand new never used coil and still the same?
There is nothing worse than having a feeling your machine is not working properly
Very tempted to invite a deus expert onto my permission and pick there brains just to put my mind at ease
Hope you get to the bottom of it and get it sorted

Hi
It is weird how it has just started happening, I have not updated it yet still on ver 2, nor do I have my mobile with me when i detect. No masts of anything like that around as been on fields with it last week with no problems.
I have always held it out in front when starting it up too, I took it out the other night and it was still the same, that is 3 different areas now that it goes mad on. When back at the car I put everything down and stood away from anything and held coil up and gently tapped it and every tap I got a single.
It does knock your confidence when it plays up, the only diffennce is I started using the chef phones but been assured that has no connection with the problems. It worked perfect the other weekend, but this last week it's been a nightmare.
So using my T2 instead for a while, but that is just as sensitive....lol.

I hope that's all it is guys..
If the GB is manually set above the actual GB reading would this effect the performance?
Or should the 2 numbers match?
Cheers

Ive been using the lobo aswell! lolLiam74 wrote:Hi

I was out with Tor from this forum on Sunday and we were both using our Deus's. His was on v3.2 and mine on v2. His started to do what you have explained with the strange chattering, and generally going mental, even when held in the air and not moving it. It seemed to just happen out of the blue. I had a scan around where he had been but mine remained fine so can't have been interferance, etc, as far as I can tell. He seemed to try most settings to try and cure it, even switching it on and off, etc.
Was very strange. Seemed to right itself in the end though, but was totally unusable at the time.
