Surprise figurine on beach.

Post by janner53 »

I was out detecting a local beach the other day trying out my newly acquired C.Scope cs4pi. Found a few decimal coins and this figurine of a lady. It came out right down at the waters edge at low tide. Not that deep, about 6 inches.
I'm sure its made of pewter and she sits 3.5 inches high and is 4.5inches wide. Its heavy and seems to have been attached to something one time. On her right hand side there is a shard of glass poking up. I'm thinking that one time she was attached to a glass dome.
I've got a feeling its a modern piece. Just wondered if anyone has seen one like it before.

...OK, It's not a beautiful poem, but it's very deep.

its proberly the lid section of a glass item vase or similar it could be art deco but the crude finish suggest a modern copy to me ::g
