Lead coins

Post by Giz »

Detected the beach today, had a few coins among these was a lead coin, well I think its a coin, the shape and size of an early decimal fifty pence. No visible features. This is the third one I have found recently. Any ideas? If I can I will download a photo.

Hi this lead coin/token came back from Amy Downs our finds liaison officer for Wakefield and Doncaster as a lead token from the 1700s, Amy has given a reference to it on the finds.org website and included a token website for further reference, as always Amy does a brilliant job. ::g
