Never detected there, but, I have dived many of the wrecks that litter the seabed around there so should imagine rich pickings could be had from the beaches & shoreline where stuff washes up, or was smuggled in the olden days. ::g

hi, i have been diving the royal charter off of moelfre for about ten years and when its to rough i do a bit of detecting there, there are hammered on red wharfe bay, mostly edward first, but these are only in a very small area which only dries out on a spring low water and are mostly around 12 inches deep, but the sand does come and go so you might get lucky. there have been some good viking finds on the island, and another beach has had some roman . anglsey historically was a very important place. there must be some wonderful places to search inland. good luck.
