Post by Cobs »

Ive only gone and bought a secondhand CTX3030 :D , cant wait until it arrives, love the idea of GeoHunt and onboard GPS and FindPoints etc, really looking forward to a hunt with it :)

Tina has inherited my Explorer II which she really enjoys using (shes always running off with it lol).

Lol Tomo - the Explorer II has me going deep already - whats max depth youve had from your 3030?

We have the X-Terra 705 (not used much), a backup Explorer XS, Tina uses an Explorer XS with SEF coil, my Explorer II has Tinas old Nel Tornado - one hell of a combo, we love the Minelabs, we have tried other but prefer Minelab, im also hoping to take the 3030 in rivers as i like snorkelling, hoping they dont leak but it seems theyre leaking due to not being cleaned after use (grit etc)?

Ill do a vid review of mine as im learning, itll also be good to compare targets with Tinas inherited Explorer II with that Nel coil :)

Nice one Paul, it's a cracking bit of kit.............great with the standard 11 inch coil but to optimise it I'd recommend eventually adding the other two as you progress. Welcome to the ever expanding throng ::g ::g ::g

Looks around for Paul :P

Cheers Phil :) - do you see much difference with the other 2 coils? I can imagine the smaller is ideal for trashy areas, were mainly working in pasture/ploughed/stubble at the moment, hows the larger one compare in these areas compared to the standard one?

I don't yet own the big farm gate sized coil myself (my next purchase) but can recommend the 6 incher for really trashy areas & nasty stubbly places where it's difficult to swing anything larger.........I've found that the seperation is absolutely amazing ::g
