coils

Post by magpie63 »

Hi all, been doing a bit of thinking over a an idea and now require some input from anyone whom has some knowledge on this post.... Here goes.. ls it possible to use different coils on different machines. Providing the mhz & cable attachment match. For example could you make up an attachment so that it could fit onto a dfx?
So if anyone has any info please post
Thanks

Almost certainly 'NO' i use a DFX and all the coils that i use are either made by Whites for that specif detector and i also do have after market coils but once again these coils have been specially made for that detector,or matched would be a better word to describe it.

What coil had you been looking at using on the DFX ??
Equinox 6'',11'' and 15'' coils.
Deus 2 9'' coil.
Minelab GPX 14'' and 18'' Coiltek coils.
Fisher TW-5 twin box.
Nexus MP 13'' coil.
Nexus SE dual 9'' coil.
Whites TDI Pro 20'' coil.

As a Nexus user you will be aware of the importance of coils being balance specifically to the 'box'. That being the case I would say it would not be advisable as there is more to it than just frequency and cable attachments.
