I have decided to go on a trip tomorrow to Filey and I was hoping for a tip or two about what to look out for there and maybe something basic like when facing the sea detect on the left of the beach or right of the beach. I would do the same if someone was coming over to detect a beach I've detected.
Thanks
Ian
please let us all know how you do...
You've probably heard that Filey was mega earlier this year, hopefully someone will get back to you very soon with some local info.
Judging by the total lack of response to your mail I conclude one of two things!!
* Either nobody detects the beach any more so cant offer an opinion (great stuff as you will have the beach to yourself)
* Or the lads are now permanently camped on the beach so dont nave access to the forum (thats great again as you will be able to get first hand knowledge from the lads when you get down there)
Seriously though the filey lads are a great bunch and will point you in the right direction if you ask.
Hi Guys Having now moved to Lincoln i dont know how the beach is yeilding at the moment there were around ten of us forum members who blitzed the beach earlier this year with some great finds from all published on this site.
I always found the left to be very productive mid to low tideline where on occasions the beach was stripped to mud and rocks others did the middle beach and a few die hards like east coast stu did the right you will hit new stuff now the tourist season has finished if you want upto date beach info contact fileylad he knows how the beaches are shifting or again eastcoaststu both have in depth knowledge of filey you may even find older stuff if you study the beach well all the best look forward to seeing your results regards nevntl
