Beach detecting in summer while beach in use?

Post by Dazscrivo »

What's it like detecting in the summer season with regards to people about obviously it's best to go when it's quiet in the winter so was wondering about people's experiences in summer?

I usually go at the weekend while im off work but I imagine they'll be a lot on the beach then particularly if its a hot day is it best to go late afternoon around 6 pm or can you still manage to go through the day without too many kids and people coming up and that?

Love detecting the surf when Peeps are about, tend to get more inquisitive folk wanting to chat about the Hobby. Especially the Teens, they tend to get very interested and want to start detecting themselves as it's something theyv'e never ever thought about, they say that it would keep them off the streets and help relieve the boredom, and it's a Healthy hobby too. ;)

I go down to the beach in the evening when all the chip munchers are in the amusements or on their way home.

Think early morn or the evenings are best when the beach is highly populated..
There was a young woman sunbathing topless in my field of vision last year and believe me it was difficult keeping my mind on the job... the machine seemed to gravitate towards her... couldnt be helped!!!
So lesson being to avoid your mind coming off the job... and thinking about being on the job... its best to avoid the busy hrs (particularly if the sun is shining!)

I hate detecting during a busy summer day. Think the best time is in the evening when most of the people are gone home.
