Don't worry Beany Bot I'm with you on this i refused to go on our honeymoon unless I was allowed to bring my fishing gear :-) I was paying for a month in South Afirca after all ;-)

Almost forgot what i wanted to post, i remembered reading about some guys from South Africa that went detecting in Mauritus looks like they had fun and plenty of finds (nothing very old for UK standards):
