I have had several requests from forum members, over recent weeks, to stress the need for the correct information to be contained in any ID request. This is a FREE service provided by enthusiastic members who need INFORMATION. They need good quality pics alongside a common coin or preferably a scale/ruler, if a coin then its important to get in close for that all important detail of lettering and design. Other items also need the same attention as those tiny remnants of attachments or artwork can really make a good ID more possible. There are lots of members on here who are trying their hand at providing an ID service and they need some as much help as possible.
We all have machines and its a big bonus when someone posts up a find with a machine that we also use and we can read about the settings used, coil type, what programme did the business on pasture/plough and at what depth etc. We can ALL learn!
Then there are the rest of us who may be crap at doing an ID

but we LOVE to hear the story behind your successful hunt

. If its worth posting up for an ID, then its worth adding the right information and doing your find justice. Should take you an extra 20 seconds.
Lets all unite to spot any really poor ID requests and refer them to this topic.
And finally .... its just good manners?
Thanks, Liam
