whites surfmaster dual field v original surfmaster

Post by Tomo »

Had a little test with the dual field and the original surfmaster in the garden after tea yesterday. Not much difference in outside design between the two but the original is alot lighter with the smaller polo coil.
Going over the coin test bed the dual field with the bigger 12 inch coil seen the targets as a much tighter solid target, more of a bang bang compared to the original which gives a softer more rounded response. Both seen the targets I buried last year but the dual found a few more I didn't bury which the original didn't see. Will give it a proper wet sand test tomorrow.

excellent machines, either work great on beaches, never cared for pulse induction till i built one, either of those are keepers.
please let us know what you think, and if you prefer one over the other.
hi all, finally back to full fitness, for those that dont know i had a bad bike crash last july and have been recovering
for those that did, thankyou for your kind words and encouragement.

There both pi machines Clint. As far as I'm aware the dual field refers to the coil type and reviews suggest it's deeper seeking for those hard to reach heavy yellow targets that sink quicker lol. We shall see :-)

hi clint the only difference is the dualfield is like two coils in one, the centre coil finds the very shallow stuff, that the other pi would not, outer larger coil finds the deep stuff, give it a test tomo see what I mean
