Sorry to necro.

It appears there's around a 6 week wait for the Nel Tornado coil int he UK at present.

I've just ordered one from Ukraine via eBay.

I'll give feedback when it arrives.

Got mine from Detectnicks. He had them in stock, kept one aside for me and I popped in the next day to pick up. First class service.

Well took out the Nel (from Ukraine) today for a couple of hours. It took around 7 days to arrive btw.

I can say, im impressed. After air tests inside the house on various objects I managed to get from 5cm to around 10cm extra depth, the latter on larger objects. Silver hammies seems to get around 7cm extra :) Tests were done one ACE 250 in all metal mode full sensitivity.

I can say though for every bar you notch down on the sensitivity you lose about an inch in depth of detection. This isn't scientific but just a general observation.

Anyhow, today, passing over old ground I managed to find a few interesting bits and one item which turned out to be a harness ring was 50 cm down in pasture land. The hole was so big my son could almost hide in it. Pasture land btw.

The larger coil defo pics up items more easily but pinpointing is harder but something we all have to learn, again.

One thing I noticed, when under a powerline, the detector went mad, beeping all over the place, it was just going crazy so I had to move away or knock 5 bars off the sensitivity. This wasn't something I encountered with the stock coil !!!!!!!

The coil cover wasn't used today as I was on pasture land but tbh the fit is 'loose' and I was afraid that the loose fit would cause vibrations to give false signals.

Anyhow, I think overall it was a good buy. I just need to spend more time getting used to it.
