latest Thames find.

Hello all,
Found this on the foreshore, under Blackfriars bridge yesterday, wedged between some big flints .
It measures 40mm across. I know it's a cap badge of the Essex regiment, but I would love to know the age or history.

Great find ::g don`t know the age but possibly World War II ? The regiment was active 1881-1958.

WW2 issue, some have a makers mark on the back to further aid dating there may also be traces of silvering on the castle.
