An Eclectic Mix From Frinton.

With all the fields around here sown,my attention turned towards beaches once more though of course now with the holiday season starting the target would be modern losses.So it was last week my db phoned me,I suggested Frinton as there might be a chance of some gold if we were lucky.Tide was nearly out (ebbing) so I concentrated near the low tide while Nigel searched the area close to the promenade.Not a lot turned up for me though among some rocks I found one of the old size 50p`s and what I first thought was an old sixpence but was in fact a dog collar disc from the `Tail Waggers Club` both in surprisingly good condition. I googled it and discovered that it was founded in 1928 becoming very popular with membership reaching a million by the mid 30`s.The disc I found had the number 867264 so I think must be about 1933 - 1934.I also found a good condition 1993 two pence with no sign at all of any copper on it and 3 rings joined together which at first I thought were costume jewellery but on inspection back home the number 375 could be seen.The signal sounded right for gold though I wasn`t sure as it was light weight.I think originally they would have been on a necklace but could not find any sign of the chain.Total ten coins (£1.20) - Nigel found 20 coins (£2.49).
