Great Price... But do I need the Headphones?

Post by Bikerboyzx6r »

Morning all

I have ordered a Deus with Remote & 11" Coil...

It's another £250 for WS4's... I thought seeing that I have wireless TDK W700's I could use them?

Are the Deus headphones essential if I have the remote?

Cheers in advance ::g

I think if you buy the wired back phones from Regtons for £16 and if you have the remote you can just plug them in and of you go... I have them the noise through them is exactly the same quality as the wireless ones .. But i love my wireless back phones and would not be without them lol

To be honest if you out the control box in your pocket and not on the stem then you'd be wireless from the main body of the detector and as such fee to dig unhindered by wire. I have, on occasion, plugged in my insert ear phone for a break from the cupped phones and found it quite a relief. Of course if you were looking to use the numbers on the control box to help you with ID then I would recommend going for the wireless phones as the constant on and off with the headphones defeats the object of the freeness you'll feel with the deus set up.
Hope that helps.

So the fact is... You don't need the XP headphones for this to work 100%?!

My wireless TDK's should be fine then! Happy days :)

My wireless backphones have proved very tough and perform great, clear sounds so that you can differentiate the varying tones and in cold weather you can stick your hat on over the top no probs.
Not sure if non-XP phones will be compatible? Good luck in any case, Liam :;@

There is an armband available for the remote an some use this with the light wired backphones - almost wireless, and the display can be checked as it's on your forearm. I wouldn't use without headphones by relying on the speaker in the remote.

I always use headphones... Just not sure an extra £250 is justified if my own wireless ones work ok... Doesn't seem to be anyone using the TDK ones with a Deus though lol

Backphones and the headphone adapter let you use any headphone or earbuds you want. The TDKs have got to get a signal from somewhere and it is doubtful that the Dues coil will provide one that is compatible.

Don't understand those that put the Remote in a pocket. How do they monitor GB and make GB adjustments or try different Reactivity, Sensitivity or Silencer settings? How do they use the pinpoint? Or do they go along hoping that they got it right and nothing changes across the site they are hunting?

The TDK Headphones come with a "Sender" box £59.99

I'm going to assume they will be fine and if required.... I can always buy the Deus headset later on! ::g

Hi Glen

Understand your comments mate... I've already got the headphones as I had them with my Ace... Just thought that the extra £250 could be saved by using these...

Now I feel like I'm cheating on XP with TDK lol... I'll heed your advice and go ask Mum for a loan.... hahaha ::g
