Its what I have been doing for five years now and it has not affected the battery life. I also have my mobile on charge overnight, so they are all on charge for about seven hours on average. I suppose half of the time I do the charge in the early morning if time permits but I like to get out detecting early, Liamharry wrote:From reading this thread it sounds like some of you guys leave your machines on charge "overnight"......if this is correct that method of charging is incorrect, you should not leave on charge for longer than is absolutely necessary as it causes the battery to over heat and drastically reduces the life of the battery, this goes for the control unit and head phones

The manual states,
Do not leave batteries charging unnecessarily and disconnect the power adapter when the charge cycle is complete or after 3 hours.
So there you have it from page35 of the manual.
Jerry.

Yep, I was just about to post up the same too. Though it doesnt say why..
Now in the manual and just above this statement there is ...
.the batteries are fitted with internal protection systems which shield them from extreme overloads and discharges
Not being a 'battery expert' I cant say whether that means that when the batteries have reached full charge then no further charging will take place or.. something else

None the wiser and over to the battery expert
Cheers !

p.s. And yes, I have always left my deus on charge overnight with no ill affect that I am aware of..Its something I always do after a couple of trips out as by then its almost 'empty of charge'. So guilty as charged m'lord !
