I have a five day pass (her indoors is off to Ireland) and was thinking of giving the beaches a go at Margate and Broadstairs can I safely assume detecting is allowed on these beaches? Any advise from the 'locals' would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
Yes u can. I have on both. Look out for the 2 local old farts on margate beach tho.
They get grumpy when anyone goes on "there beach".
Had 2 runnings with them before. Just nodded and carried on, after they both cut me up.
On the plus side tho look one furum member, hydraglide, think that's his name. Very nice guy, can point u to the best place to detect on the local beachs.
Good luck. Ps, get there early. It gets very busy.

hi, do those beaches all the time, look for the cuts in front of the swimming pool, they produce viccy stuff, broadstairs, has been hammered, may be better off looking at some of the bays either side, if your just going to do the dry, definitely do the smaller bays, main beaches have been done to death, good luk HH
Thanks gents. I've decided to do Joss Bay sometime during the week Thursday or Friday maybe? As the low tide suits me in the early afternoon. Going to try using my GPX and find some deep stuff out of the range of other machines! Will post my results, the good, the bad and the ugly
It never matters how many MDs have been over it!
If its been done recently I work between the overlaps. I think most people are missing things with their sweeps. Good luck!, Margate has had enough 2p arcade machines to keep you busy!
J is a key surfing beach for Kent, and has been for years. Good choice I reckon.
You could try Minnis bay solid chalk bed so it stays in place and will not sink i had 5 gold rings off Margate in 1 hour but it was a long tme ago and at 5AM on a very low tide , Deal beach is shingle i have had a lot of cash and gold and silver on the beach . good luck.
