All very interesting stuff, any ideas on the cost of a replacement battery pack? Benny

Pointless leaving everything switched on overnight to discharge it all because after a certain period of inactivity the deus goes into standby, which is probably why it said "no coil" when you went to it in the morning.

NEVER discharge li po's they can explode. I learned the hard way with a £100 rc car battery.
Just use your deus and charge them before you use it again. If your going to leave it for a long while make sure they are 50% charged

LiPo's have self protect circuitry in them so if they explode they're probably some cheapo ones that shouldn't have been sold in this country, or Europe. Once a charge goes below the second threshold it becomes a paperweight, but your battery should never get discharged this far in a Deus. They keep a good charge for years and a flashing LED isn't going to drain a battery that much.

Always best to keep a battery topped up in my opinion as you never know when you'll get the urge to rush out in the middle of the night to go detect some beach after a storm or something and there's nothing worse than driving miles only to find your detector is dead on arrival. =))
Current setup:
XP Deus v2.0, MINELAB Equinox 800 v1.7.5, GARRETT Pro-Pointer
MD'ing since Sept '11
