Don't lose HOPE

Post by robr »

I didn't lose HOPE, I found it this evening on Margate beach, It says it's Silver inside but looks like gold on the outside, it is a pretty little ring and I was very pleased it found it's way to me.
I also found 10 pound coins, plus 68p in modern money and a 1949 sixpence.
I was using the Deus in GMP power on the dry sand, I only spent a hour and a half there as the light was going, very nice evening though.

To be honest, I have only had the Deus for a week and have had some great finds with it, I have used it on the wet beach and done quite well with no problems, I had to keep the coil a little of the ground, I dug some quite deep targets though, I wouldn't say it's the best wet beach machine, but it's not bad for sure. Over the 35 years I have been detecting, I will say the Deus is my favourite.....Rob

Hi John
If you click on my name then see users other posts, you will see the Bronze Age bits I found the other day, I have only had it a week though.
I will tell you what happened to me the other day.
I went to our local sledging slope to do some coin bashing, and hopefully find a bit of bling, I got lots of coins (over 50) on one bank which had short grass, so over to the other side of the hill, the grass on this side was whisper and knee high, but thin so not hard to deal with, I was walking down the slope when something caught my eye as I was looking down towards the Deus coil, I stopped rapidly when I saw a snake.........yep there was an Adder Snake right under my coil, the bugger then popped his head up through my coil, I lifted it slowly and backed away, stepped to the left, then I thought sod this long grass, I slowly walked down to the bottom of the valley, on the way which was no more than 200 yards there where 3 more, 2 the same size as the first and one smaller........I will not be going back there in the sunshine........the above is actual fact.
