I have never found one of those yet, just about every other metal but never a platinum one.

This is the third platinum ring from this beach this set of tides plus some junk rings and scratcher has had a gold or two. ::g

Always wondered as not a beach detectorist myself, but do you not have to hand things like rings into the police as lost property and claim them after a certain amount of time has passed? especially if they look like they might have been recently lost or are valuable.

Geeza says it might be worth £330 as scrap but it might be worth a lot more to someone if it's a wedding ring or something else of sentimental value.

Not trying to kick off a debate, just wondering really.
