large coil and the new 11" coil

Post by MetalMonkey »

Anyone been able to compare the large coil and the new 11" coil
I have the stock 9" and the large 13" x 11" coils wondering if there's any advantage getting the 11" I'm not bothered about weight etc I can swing the large coil around all day it's performance in interested in

Thank you in advance

I don't think your going to see much benefit if you already have the 13" coil. The only benefit would be the light weight and better balance.

It's difficult to understand the reason for asking this question but the answer in my opinion and that of others I would think, is that buying the 11 inch coil (given that you already have a
13 X 11) example to go with the standard 9 inch coil would be an unnecessary outlay, especially if you're talking Deus. If available for the model in question, a smaller coil would make much more sense in terms of practicality. Cheers and Good Luck.

Thanks for the response mrix, sweepstik the reason I asked the question is that I've heard so much about the new Deus 11" coil ,how much more clearer the singles are and lots more depth etc my thoughts were that maybe that the new 11" coil was more advanced than the other coils?

Thanks again

I'm sure I'll find out on Deus day ::g

Nope I'm a Cheshire lad :D
Gixsy600 have you tried the 13"x11" coil when I got that I thought it was great but I don't see much difference in depth if any to be honest just able to cover more ground which is ok pin pointing your target is much harder I find with the 13"x11" coil than with the 9" coil.
Roll on Deus day =)) ::g

Thanks guys

I have found that the 11 inch does give more depth sometimes on a hot sweaty day on pasture more than you would like ( puff pant ) as for pinpointing i think you need to find the sweet spot on the coil. With my 11 inch coil i have found that it is more to the rear of the coil if that makes sense to you ::g

Having owned all three coils I have settled for the new 11" and don't see any reason why I would change other than maybe a smaller coil alongside this one for the odd really trashy sites (I find the 11" copes with anything I detect on so far) I think the detector set up far more important and having great time getting used to Gary's hot all tone prog

Keep it low keep it slow

I agree with Pauls comments based on well over 4 years using the Deus.

I also use Gary`s Hot programme and have been known to find coins and artifacts on a regular basis.

Have fun and Happy Hunting whatever you decision. ::g Jerry.
