Programme for Rings with the Deus v3 please

Post by Slow & Low »

Hello
I have yet to find a dedicated programme which will find jewellery inc Rings. I have got a not yet tested but sounds good custom programme for GB Coins of the forum but they do not recomend using it for looking Rings/jewellery.

I go to North Wales beaches detecting every time.

Cheers

There's no such thing. If you want to find all types of jewellery you basically have to dig everything over about 30 on the scale. And even then you'll miss some cheaper plated and corroded jewellery. It's the same thing for UK coins, now that they are crap quality copper-plated steel they don't give clean signals when corroded.

Your best 'tools' for finding jewellery items are your ears when listening to the tones, and lots of practise. And also knowing your deus inside and out so you can change settings on the fly, as just like on land, one setting for a whole beach may not be the best course of action, every beach is unique.

I would however recommend 18khz for smaller items, if you want to find necklaces and earrings. Be prepared to dig lots of tiny bits of aluminium though, some beaches are infested with the stuff. =))
Current setup:
XP Deus v2.0, MINELAB Equinox 800 v1.7.5, GARRETT Pro-Pointer

I have found 5 gold rings with the my deus using wet beach, dry beach and basic 1. Its the same old story you have to walk over the right spot as with any detector.
Basic 1 works on dry beach too.
Best of luck
Its better out of the ground and in your hand for the history or monetary value rather than left in the ground to rot doing nothing for anyone.

Thanks hihosilver & Gwarrer both uses info. Yes I understand the concentration of listening for the tones from the XP Deus but minerals of the sand confuses me.

I sometimes dig a target in wet sand to find this smelly black sand just a inch or 2 down and my Garrett Pin Pointer keeps detecting a target all the time and no target is actually found.

Has anyone come across this on wet beaches, Black smelly sand under wet sand ? if when working on wet sand and its giving some false signals what change of the XP would bypass this Sensitivity or Descrimination ?
cheers

Steven have you still got the Etrac? If so leave the xp at home!! Load up a low descrim patter get some settings off the forum, sens auto plus3 or as high as you can in manual, noise cancel and off you go. Dig all two way signals no probs with falsing.
