Golden Mask Coil

Post by sdg111 »

Golden Mask arrived yesterday but the coil seems a bit loose/floppy when attached to the stem. I'm scared I over tighten the plastic wing nut in case it cracks but obviously the coil needs to be stiff - any suggestions welcome, thanks.

Thanks Derek, I'll check when I get home but think that's the problem.

Who did you buy it from...?

It might be worth a quick phone call to the supplier to reassure you :)

Barbarossa, bought it from Evergreen. Tried to call this morning but seem to be closed on a Saturday. Still at work so haven't checked yet but I'm pretty sure I've forgotten to put a washer at either side in my haste to put it together. Will let you know, thanks.

T'was a missing washer. Now replaced correctly and all's well. That'll teach me to screw together an MD at 1 in the morning after a party and several glasses of wine!! Thanks for the advice.

Ha ha Glenfiddich. I am actually a huge whisky fan but can't afford malts too often. Normally a low flyer for me with a dash of water. Just happened to be offered a very smooth Australian Shiraz that night, and had a glass or two too many!!

Out for two hours with GM1 today. Picking out lots of small things quite deep so very happy. Found a very heavy small piece of white metal which registers in the coin range in my sons Ace 250 and gave a very nice loud signal on the GM1. Can't show you it because we're still figuring out how to load photos onto our posts. :( Don't know what it is but will post it when I can. Cheers!

Reference your photos sdg111
When you open the text box to write a post look just under the text box and your should see "upload attachment"
Click this and find your pic....
Your photo must be 600x600 pixels or less
A modern camera can take pictures way bigger than this so its likely you will have to resize your picture first.
There are plenty of places online where you can do this, i use this one
http://www.picresize.com/

An easier way if you want is open a "photobucket or imageshack" account, upload your photos to there and then copy and paste the link into your post....
Hope this helps...

Thanks Blackadder43, will try this tomorrow. My son is desperate for some of his finds to be identified!
