minelab ctx 3030

hiya all, i have just gone for the CTX303.

i was using the XP deus but wanted to give the big daddy a try, if anyone has any top tips/programmes help and advice ie websites with detailed info i would really appreciate it,,,

Can't offer anything of any use to you but have read about them & they look the absolute business ::g ::g Not sure the boss would approve if I got one but I can dream can't I...Good luck with it ::g :)

I have copied this that I posted in another thread, its the best advice I can offer.
dont try to run until you can walk, dont mess with the settings until you are confident enough to know what you are doing.
the factory preset programs will find the goodies and are a good way to learn the tones and TiD, the ctx is a "switch on and go" machine so if you take the time to learn and understand what its telling you you should not have any problems.

The CTX is an excellent but complex piece of kit. With such stuff I always read the manual form cover to cover and then have play aro7und with settings and then have another play - the second read and play always make more sense.

the other thing is you can play around with menus and stuff early on knowing that you can factory reset before you really start using it....

Just some thought on how I approach it.

I would say use the std settings to start but Minelab users web stite have some good progs - I use tadpole 3 mostly with a bit of twaeking and my find rate has gone up.....
CTX 3030 and Garrett Pro-Pointer. Garrett ACE 250 and AT PRO as spare.
