Zippo guarantee!

Post by Scratcher »

Hi all, last month I found an old zippo lighter on the beach. It had been there a while and was about 10" down and I couldn't see it was a lighter at all because it was so crudded up! Anyway next day whilst clearing out my pouch on closer inspection I could see what it was and proceeded to knock off the crud. Once opened I saw that the ignition wheel had rotted out and the whole inside lid was encased in rust, I got what I could out and dropped it in a bit of wd40 for a week or so. The innards were stuck solid so I just sent it off to zippo repair uk with a short note asking under the lifetime guarantee could it be refurbed ,please! My daughter laughed and called it cheeky but as I said to her, "shy bairns get nowt" fast forward 3 weeks and yesterday this was on the mat when I got home! Cheers zippo, 1st class service! ::g :D

When serving in the forces I think that US Forces were actually issued with these lighters.

Nice one.... but when they said lifetime guarantee assume that ruled out being squashed under a lorry ... or submerged in salt water for 30 years !!! But hay ho well done to them and very well done to you!!!
