New Deus, first go over old ground..

Post by Ollie K »

Hi everyone. This is my second attempt as I've just spent the last hour writing the post, uploading pic,etc, got right to the end and, like the duffus that I am, closed the window!!! B|
Any way I got my Deus on Saturday, complete with remote and ws4's. The first thing that struck me was how light and well balanced it is. It's also really neat and the remote seems like a masterpiece of design. I took it on the area where I found the Lizzie six pence, eager to see what the old Euroace might have missed. I set it in GMP, idea being the 18KHZ would hopefully snaffle out any small hammereds, or the like. First signal was a little iffy so I dug out a few inches to see if the signal improved. Nope, still a bit weak so I went to dig down some more but could see something laying in the bottom of the hole. Looks like a jetton! I'm pretty sure it is as it looks very similar to the one I found on my new permission last weekend, although time hasn't been kind to this poor thing, but I welcome your comments if you have any suggestions?
I think maybe it was laying on edge and dropped down as I dug the soil out, as the signal improved when I ran over it again in the hole. I then found a button, but had to cut the session short as it started persisting it down big time! I'm really impressed with it first time out and can't wait to take it on my new permission this week. Good luck everyone and thanks for reading. Hopefully I won't balls the post up this time! b;>

Yes definitely a Jetton one trick with the Deus on iffy signals is dig a spade out see if it improves or disappears if it improves great if it stays same or disappears change program one with a lower frequency like GMaxx or Relic as these punch a little deeper especially on pasture. Once you get more confident try other special program's like Garry's Hot or the one a lot of people having lots if success with at moment is Adam Staples 4 HF program's that can be seen in last months Treasure Hunter.

Cheers Max, sounds good ::g but as a newbie do you think I'd be better off sticking to the factory programmes for now, as is so often recommended? I'm off on a harrowed, drilled field on Wednesday and Thursday. =P~

No harm in giving it a try m8 ::g i don't think you will use any other settings after you have tried it for about five hours or so ::g Do you have this months searcher with the write up in it ?

I have the mag mate. ::g I suppose using someone else's tried and tested program isn't any different to using Deus' in house ones as long as you don't fiddle with them. x;
