XP Deus 9'' or 11'' Coil ?
XP Deus 9'' or 11'' Coil ?
Hi Peeps,
Ive had my Deus for around 18 months and love the thing, however the coil recently developed a fault and was sent back to XP under warranty.
XP have decided that it isn't worth repairing and have asked Regtons to provide me with a brand new coil ( Thats what i call good service, especially as Regtons loaned me a coil while mine was away ).
Regtons rang me in the week to let me know that i could collect my new coil when ever i wanted to.
I asked if it was possible to pay the extra and have an 11'' coil instead, not a problem i was told and only £30 extra.
Am i making a good decision here, what are your thoughts on the 11'' coil over the standard 9'' job.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Don’t annoy me, I’m a detectorist......and I know places where they’ll never find your body.

11" coil is a good all-round size, similar weight to the 9" and will give you a little more coverage and depth
B-)
At the moment we have an MDF deal for the 11" coil with Free next working day delivery! Direct Listing here - XP Deus 11" Coil + Cover.
Cheers

Actually I do not own the 11" coil, I am only going on all the positive I have researched on this coil, these guy above who are actually using it are the replies to take note ofThanks Mrixs, if anybody would know then you would, i appreciate your reply

All I know is, its a similar weight to the 9" coil, It will obviously cover a little more ground and will give you a little more depth
Those facts alone makes it a no brainer

The 9" coils does have its advantages especially if your ground is heavily mineralised.
Thanks

Well, I use the 9" and the 11". On my Roman the 11 wins but on my medieval field the 9 wins.
It depends on the land you go on
It depends on the land you go on
I have both coils but still use the 9 inch more...as previously stated it depends on the ground...most of the land I go on is stubble or rough ploughed and quite noisy so I find the smaller coil is far better...the only time the 11 inch comes into play is if I'm on pasture or quiet ploughed and rolled flat then obviously the bigger coil covers more ground...
XP Deus , Teknetics T2 SE , Garrett pinpointer. 'To dig or not to dig that is the question?'
I got the 9" as standard and you already know it finds the smallest stuff, I have chatted to a few 11" users and their opinions have convinced me to place my order for the 11" as well, can't wait for it to land, good luck with your decision

use both coils and they are good the 9 inch is great for stubble and the 11 inch is good for flatter terrain pasture etc just think what type of ground youll concentrate on

If I was allowed only one, it would be 9". Easier in to swing in stubble and better target separation in hot spots where there is lots of iron. Having seen Adam at work with the 13x11 on the Deus day, tempted to ditch 11" and get the big one which has (I'm told) has noticeable increased depth over 9" and if the land is quiet enough to use "The Daddy", more depth is useful.

Hi i use the 9 inch coil my self and it has found me loads of small cut hammys, and small silver coin finds the best this week a silver sceat.I mostly work stubble if i was working flat grass fields i would go with a bigger coil but for stubble and habitation sites with lots of iron and crap the 9 inch is the coil to have i would love to get hold if they made one a small say 6 inch coil for the dues.
