deus and foil

Post by deltron »

Hi all, one of the fields I go on is covered with foil B| and the deus loves it. My mate uses an etrac and he doesn't have a problem with it, he get a low grunt, that got me thinking why not turn the deus into an etrac ? the result is a machine that grunt on silver paper just like the etrac ::g .
I tested the settings with coins wrapped in foil, cut 1/4. 1/2 and full hammie, nice clear signal. the only coin it wouldn't pick up was a REALLY tiny roman minim.
Can't wait for the weekend to try it.

My Buddy uses an Etrac and at the weekend he dug as much foil as i did :-/ Foil also tends to give lower numbers , most Hammies give a signal around the 63 to 69 mark foil comes in at anything from 14 to 36 .

Hi, Converting the deus control module to accept the FBS circuitry must have produced a fair bit of sweat!! :))

You would mate, but I hate full tones. I like one nice high tone and another for iron, the way I've set it up I get a real low grunt for foil. The way I see it, if it beeps I'll dig it ::g .
I' ve tweaked the settings I sent you a bit more, it's a killer on my hammie site. My mate with a etrac can't believe how much more I dig compared to him !!!

The VDU on the Explorer gives you a better idea. Foil tends to make the cursor hang half on/half off and be a bit jittery. ::g

Still dig it though...... once its gone its gone.

It is worth noting that not all the foil grunts are all foil with the etrac. I take it he's running in conductive sounds as foil will give a low tone due to it's usually small and thin profile. I have found foil usually ends with a co value of 01 but I still dig it as usually is not definitely.
