To Dig or not to dig

Post by XPTitus »

I know this has been done before, but I'm still getting used to my machine
when using one of the default programs, for example GMP what sort of numbers do you more experienced detectorists find yourselves digging, and is there a threshold below which you do not dig, where you know it is just rubbish :-/
Main reason I ask is that I don't really get that much time out there and find I don't want to waste my limited time tweaking programs, as I know there are a lot of them out there x;
I am aware a lot of you like the tones and I think I would too but I can't get out enough to experiment yet

First of all thanks for the replies, but I tried the "dig everything" scenario on the first couple of land digs, and the amount of agricultural iron and rubbish I dug was hard work, with very little of the good stuff to show, so I suppose what I'm saying is that I'm trying to fine tune my skills with this great piece of kit to give more chance of digging the good stuff, if that makes sense :-/

Every day is a learning curve with the DEUS, even the most seasoned users will still get fooled by the odd bit of coke and some of them deep iron targets give a signal that is too good to leave, i have had some great find's from signals that give no reading at all on the screen, but just a sweet sounding 2 way signal. ::g ::g
