How is the CTX 3030 on wet sand ?

Post by iDetect »

Hi Guys,

I have tried a search on this forum for the word "Beach' and it fails because there are too many hits, so short of trailing through every post its hard to find a concise answer, so I shall ask it here :-0

I have a Deus which is great on inland sites as I have no doubt the CTX3030 is so lets not get into that debate ::g

However, the Deus is only just what I would call 'ok' on some beaches and poor on others compared to activity that I see going on all around me.

So, what is the collective wisdom on the CTX3030's performance on wet sand please?

It's amazing, it makes the transition from wet to dry and back seemlessly.

I changed no settings, I believe you only need to change the settings if you submerge the coil.

Thanks Guys, I was hoping that would be the reply. I have the DEUS which I think is a brilliant piece of kit but my other half wants to join me on some digs so if I am going to get a 2nd detector, I may as well get something that will perform in the area where I think the DEUS is a little lacking and also be good for me when we are both detecting inland.

I had the Etrac which is also fantastic on wet / dry sand.
Its deeper than my Deus but i love the Deus for other reasons.
I know you asked regarding the CTX but the Etrac`s are a fraction of the price second hand and often come along with extra coils etc..
