I cant make pumping ground balance work.

Post by jag »

I have been recommended to use pumping to ground balance my new Deus. The problem is I always get a GB Fail error come up. I have tried loads of different areas and made sure they are clean. Tried it slow and fast, high and low but never actually got a GB yet. Any ideas why?

It does say in the manual I believe that you may need to use a different form of discrimination if the pumping setting does not work, according to the manual you should pump the coil around 6 inches of the ground and as quoted normally it will fail if your over metal fragments.

I've never used it and can't understand why anyone would stand in one area of a field and do this unless you're going to continue to do it all over the field!! It assumes that the ground is 100% consistent and uniform in composition .. Show me a field where the ground balance remains identical and I'll be very surprised

Sorry I can't be of any help whatsoever .. It's tracking all day long for me!

I struggle to get Pumping gb to work as well ;;z
It's manual gb mostly for me, just go about a couple higher than actual and it works great (just have to keep an eye on it) ::g
Takes a bit of getting used to tho, but in my opinion it's worth it.

I don't bother anymore, just switch on and after a couple of swings the ground will show, adjust in manual within 4 clicks. but ya going to have to keep an eye on it, or switch on, click tracking and off ya go, again after a couple of swings its set. But it depends on the field conditions, if the ground stats are up and down a lot then tracking may be a bit chirpy. Jamie B is right in his post, I know a guy who used his on 90 all the time as he was told all fields in his area will have the same ground balance and couldn't understand what was wrong with it, he , I sorted him out and he's now a happy chappy.

I always use manual and try to keep it at the factory setting of 90 wherever possible.

Seems to work fine on my sites ::g Jerry.
