treating myself to a new detector

Post by chunk69 »

Hi everyone haven't posted on here for a while as I haven't been out for months due to other commitments new house pregnant wife etc. The bug is eating away at me and I can't handle it anymore and I need to get back in the field lol. I'm going to treat myself to a new xp deus and wanted to no if any of you guys that use them have anything bad to say about them? I'm going to be using it on plough pasture and beach. Cheers in advance

Nothing bad to say about the XP DEUS.. Maybe in the high end of price range, but seems to constant dropping little. Beware of the Charging clip, as it is delicate.. Maybe buy an spare one.. Consider a power bank 13000mAh. to boost up you detector in the field if forgotten between the diapers.. Go for the full version with control unit and go for the 11" coil..

Hi Chunk 69, I have been using My Deus since late 2010 and have managed 90 hammered coins as well as loads of other stuff, in my view "best machine on the market" ::g ::g ::g

Hello chunck69, I think its unfair to say the Deus will not perform on wet sand as it can ::g , we have a fair few members here who use the deus at the beach including me ::g I am not sure why some members are having issues but on clean wet sand all should be fine ::g Maybe some are detecting on black sand ? higher mineralised beaches possibly ? I have not had the chance to use the Deus on these type of beaches.
Cheers

Yea do dry sand a lot and wet littel ( not much here in wet sand, so why search) But not really think it is bad.. Naturally beach rats would go buy a PI detector.. :D

I have a cs4pi at moment but the inability to have any sort of descrim is annoying so I'm I going to chop in the euro and cs4pi and go for the deus I think. Cheers mrix you sound pretty happy with it on the wet so il give it a go and see what happens

I take my Deus + 9" coil out to the US to use on the beach, for wet & dry sand.

Not ideal is a single frequency machine but it works quite well in the 'wet sand' mode.

At my local beach on clean wet sand it works fine for me ::g, you say you are using a cs4pi, now that`s one of the best machines out there and dedicated for the beach, the deus will cope reasonably well but its not going to be in the same league for the beach as your 4pi but you will obviously have discrimination.
Cheers
