Went down to one of our local Cornish beaches yesterday for a few hours looking for a lost ring.
No sign of the ring but ended with £4.70 in coins and an old coin. It is very worn but could just make out Anna, so I assume that it is a Queen Anne Halfcrown and she died in 1714 so it just goes to show how long stuff washes about in the sea.
Gales last night and more to come so the beaches will change by mid week.

No photo as it is so worn that all you can see is Anna and the outline of an older face, So it is about 1708. I expect it is silver as most pre 1918 are.
