My sad little collection of bottles :O)

Post by deanothehunter »

I found these many years ago when I was out ferreting for rabbits on some land I had permission on then I noticed all these and more bottles all laying on the surface or half burried and even more if you dug down a bit :) .

Since this find I then got permission to metal detect also for a few years but then sold my detector and had a long break before coming back to it late last year when I joined this site.
I been turning up to see the farmer to find out if I can carry on detecting etc but have not yey managed to catch the farmer in after many visits as he is very busy indeed and nearly always out :(

I was told it was a victorian bottle dump but many were much later but still very collectable all the same, these in the pic are all I have left as I sold a lot to a collector some years back who only wanted certain ones but I would love to get down there again and dig some more as they are littered over quite an area and some nice ones still there between 2 fields so they pretty safe away from plough etc as they are on the hedge line where tractors etc dont go thankfully :D

sadly they very common, however look for the ones that have the tower on them or the large size that also has the tower on them in nice colour shades in blue and green also still not worth much but look lovley the one you have 25p 50p if your lucky a tower small 4-5 pounds larger size can fetech up to 7-8 pounds there is a rare one i think its in amber glass that would be quite a bit more in value
