9in or 11in Deus Coil ?

Post by Crocket »

Hi every body , sorry if this as been asked before , I've just tried checking previous post but can not find one. I'm almost ready to buy a new deus lite with back phones and I would like the 11in coil , is there much difference in weight between 9in and 11in coil . The reason I ask is after using my Ace 250 For 2/3 hours my arm begins to ache ,

Its not a noticeable difference. Only thing to consider is that the new coil coming out soon will be similar size to the 9".

9 " 392 gram + 44 gram Coilcover.. = 436
11" 415 gram + 60 gram Coilcover... = 475
Difference is 39 gram..

Beside this fact, I would personally go for the 11" coil, as it have become extremly popular

Hi there, your arm shouldn't ache using the 9 or 11" coils, especially as it's the lite version. What scenarios are you likely to be using it in? If you're likely to be searching around old houses, pubs, trashy sites, etc then the 9" would be a better choice as I'm told it gets between the iron better plus is easier when getting in amongst stubble. The 11 has the advantage both in increased ground coverage and a bit more depth and is more of an all rounder. I've got the 11" but I'm thinking of getting a 9" coil to use on trashy sites so would welcome other peoples opinions on this too.
Cheers Ollie ::g

I've had the 9" and swopped it for the 11", personally I like the 11" more.
Good all round coil with good depth and slightly better ground coverage, the weight difference is barely noticeable.

I've gone back to the 9" coil. I just like it better.

I've used them all and the 11" is the best all rounder .. The 9" is good for stubble and REALLY trashy sites but the 11" is the best for flat pasture or ploughed

The 13" will give you more coverage but it is noticeably heavier .. If you detect for long sessions then go for the 11"

Put it like this .. I'm always trying to nick Saxmans' 11" coil off him when we go out lol

I have had the 9ins since the early days and have found it perfectly able to cope with all sorts of terrain, I sweep a bit slower these days to pick up the fainter signals, so its not all about racing around with a bigger coil to cover more ground, Liam ::g

As Crocket himself says in first post. Maybe asked before, and a few good and informative post about it.. Im to, is on the 9" coil, and happy with that.. Not that I have no dreamabout more toy, but not sure it will make the trees grow into heaven to have a 11" coil. A little deept is gained to.
