Suitable bag for Deus 9" coil

Post by AceofSpades »

I've been looking for a backpack for the deus and found a Karrimor Cargo 40 bag in a local sports store. It's just about big enough to hold the deus with the 9" coil. Only £13 as well. Pretty pleased with myself.

when you say just about big enough for 9" coil... do you think it might take a 11" coil? :P

I bought an old canvas bag form the army and navy surplus for £5 and it takes two arm cups and three coils and at a push a roughneck in there too.

It's a tight fit for the 9" so no way an 11" will fit. I specifically wanted a backpack not a holdall as I tend to walk a very long way from the car.

I've had mine out in snow, ice, wet muddy weather, submerged underwater and have had no problems at all. The control box is a different matter and I would keep that dry and safe. Personally I whip it off and Bing it in my pocket.

I found the perfect one for my full set up Deus +11" coil , I got it from a large sports outlet for £14 its a multi tennis padded bag that is just the right size it has two carrying handles and a over the head long strap
I can go out on my motorbike and take all my gear no problems. small Rucksack i the top box, mini spade in a fold up garden chair bag secured to the rear of the seat in front of the top box, and the sports bag on my back.

I use the Karrimor SF Sabre 35 Litre Rucksack (bought it from Ray Mears a few years ago) and it holds all my detecting gear and food/drinks/jackets very easily. ::g
