Yep, agree, I had an Etrac but the ctx plus 17" coil is a powerful combo and much better for me. Am using Gog's Tadpole 4 which has been the best setup by far. It's a lot of money but my daughter says Yolo!!

cheers lads I also got a stinkin cold for my birthday!
Like any machine it will take lots of usage to get the most from it, diving in and playing with all the options won't get you anywhere.
So its standard coil standard set ups until I get the feel of it.
The temptation to bung on the 17 inch coil and go over my already well covered permission is quite strong to "prove" the machine, but I'm going standard and work out the gps geohunt fist.
Now I have to clean up the AT pro and sell it, the missus says I can only use one at a time

[firstly happy 50th , ive also bought the ctx3030, i think its one of those machines you have to get your head round, i also purchased programme and settings cards of ebay for the machine, is it worth just running at its preset options as these must be the best choice surely, you boffins out there please let me know, good luck with you new machine.
thanks in advance for your ctx3030 information
