the coin
one here also"Victoria Queen of Great Brit 1869" around young head bust / Standard "To Hanover" . "To Hanover" game counters are satirical imitations of gold sovereigns of Queen Victoria. Almost all are dated "1837" on the reverse, but were issued for many years. When William IV died in 1837, Victorian succeeded him as Queen of England, but women were not allowed to rule the German state of Hanover, which was also a possession of William IV. So Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland and son of George III, became King of Hanover. These counters have a bust of Victoria, and the reverse satirizes their Saint George killing the dragon motif with Ernest Augustus wearing a crown and holding a sword, while his horse prances on a multi-headed dragon, "To Hanover" above
